-RH bill, Ateneo, and La Salle: Of lemons and cowards | The Varsitarian-

“What this article reminds me of is Rizal’s Noli and El Fili when he aggressively warned us against limiting our intellectual faculties all in the name of “morals and values” which are thoughtlessly placed out-of-context. This article reminds us that there are still the same kind of people who lived during Rizal’s time today who are effortlessly brainwashed by An-Institution-Which-Must-Not-Be-Named (forgive the pun, I just re-read HP last night). I don’t think that we should bash UST for the words in this article, stupid as they may be, do not represent the whole of UST (even if he/she shamelessly thinks so). I just feel so unfortunate that they are afforded limited education. Limited in the sense that they are not free to explore what the limitless mind can offer but instead are forced to taper and tame their thoughts and align it with the narrow and shallow minds of those on top (again from An-Institution-Which-Must-Not-Be-Named). P.S. I think you have misused coward there. I don’t see you putting in your name, coward.”
